Sorghum flour's effect on improving plasma lipid profile and atherogenic index in diabetic rats

Dyslipidemia increases the risk of coronary heart disease in people with diabetes. Increased consumption foods substantial fiber and antioxidants, such as sorghum, can help diabetes manage their lipid profiles improve insulin sensitivity. The study aimed to evaluate how sorghum flour affected diabetic rats' plasma atherosclerosis index (IAP) score blood profile. A randomized control design was used for research's experimental methodology. In 2019, carried out at P3G Laboratory UGM. 18 male Wistar rats served subjects were separated into three groups: treatment (P) (5 g/mouse/day 28 days), positive (K+), negative (K-). By administering nicotinamide streptozotocin (STZ), DM rat model created (NA). GPO-PAP method measure TG levels. Total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, high-density lipoprotein all measured using CHOD-PAP. log (TG/HDL) ratio calculated index. Paired T-tests, Wilcoxon, Anova, Kruskal-Wallis, data. According findings, there significant changes groups' baseline post-intervention levels total cholesterol (p=0,003), triglycerides (p=0,002), IAP (p=0,001). conclusion, feeding altered (IAP). Their LDL, triglycerides, be reduced a daily intake 5 g per person.
